A LITTLE ABOUT US…

Both Ian and myself are from long standing farming backgrounds in Dorset.

In 1983 we purchased and renovated a 1700’s thatched cottage in Ashmore. Then as the family grew, adding in a barn conversion. In 2008 we undertook the opportunity of building our dream house, Glebe Farm. The house is constructed from locally sourced Shaftesbury greenstone and Devon Oak timber frame for the structure, plus large panes of glass to capture the panoramic views and our love for the outdoors.

Having started bed and breakfast in the cottage back in 1990, we decided for the convenience of our guests to situate their accommodation, The Cottage separate to the main farmhouse with kitchen & sitting-room for your comfort. The house and hot water are heated by a wood-chip biomass.

To the best of my ability I source local produce for the breakfast hamper on arrival, to include: Artisan cheeses, Dorset bacon, mushrooms, milk, free range eggs etc.

Ian and our daughter Loren run a mixed arable farm, including a beef suckler herd of Angus cross and a flock of organic sheep due to the steep surrounding terrain. Often situated in front of the house Loren keeps her flock of pure bred sheep, Herdwick, Blue Faced Leicester, Charolais, Nelson and Teeswater. We kindly ask that you keep your dog on a lead.
